Almost Wordless Wednesday: Happy Halloween

4:23 PM

Happy Halloween!

Our Trick or Treat night was on Friday and my Handsome Devil and I passed out 12 bags of candy in one hour. I wasn't warned that our block is one of the most popular to hit. Literally moms in mini vans pulling up and 6 kids getting out kind of action.

We're linking up with everyone over at The Paper Mama!

Have a great day everyone!

The first week of October we made the trek back to Ohio/Indiana to visit my far away family and celebrate my Great Grandma, Mimi Daisy, turning 100! Might I say this lady looks fantastic for being 100! I told her I can finally call her old at this point, and she found that quite amusing.

It's not very often that you get pictures of your son with his Great Great Grandmother...

But, also getting a picture with his Great Great Grandfather!

Josh had a blast and was showing off his grin to everyone. I think this was outfit two of the day...we went through four I think...oh, the joys of travel with an infant!

It was a day of lots of picture taking, sharing memories, and getting snuggle time in with our boy. Here's the lady of the day with her just plain old grandkids. Funny fact: when we said how about a picture with the grandkids these guys all went to send their own children in for the picture forgetting they were the first grandkids!

It was a long trip with lots of miles put on the car, but so worth it! You only see somebody turn 100 once!

Baby Favorites: Part 1

4:57 PM

Seriously, a baby comes along and you cannot get enough of baby products! If you're like me though at first I was clueless and found myself asking any woman near me in the baby store what she thought of each item that I picked up and pondered getting. Then earlier this week while at one of our favorite spots Target I found myself on the other side of the fence and helped the most adorable couple register for their little one. So, here comes the first installment of Baby Favorites!
Warning: There may be many similar posts to follow in the future!

1. GroVia Magic Stick- For all you cloth diapering, and honestly even non-cloth diapering families this thing is fantastic! It's all natural, cloth diaper friendly, and mess free. It's like an old school glue stick but for diaper ointment. It's great for when your little one is wiggling all over the place and keeps your hands clean!

2. Aden + Anais Swaddle Blankets- These oversized muslin swaddle blankets are where it's at! Great for burping, swaddling, creating a clean space for your little one to play, and quite honestly anything else you can think to use it for.

3. BumGenius All-in-One Cloth Diaper- It's true they are more bulky than other cloth diapers, but they're made in the USA and we've never sprung a leak with these guys. We like both the organic and the freestyle selections. These are the ones that make up the majority of our cloth diaper collection.

4. Tommee Tippee Anti-Colic Bottles- In my personal opinion these are a breast feeding moms best friend. Every baby and every situation is unique, but for us these were a Godsend! Our boy can go from breast to bottle like a champ and rarely has gas issues. Fairly easy to figure out how to put together and to clean. Don't be turned off my the initial price tag though! Target sells these babies now and are often on sale, and I swear once a month they are buy one get one 50% off at Babies R Us.

5. Gerber Side Snap Onesies- Seriously, a life saver! These were basically what Josh lived in for the first few weeks of life. He still hates having shirts pulled over his head and now that he wrestles us every time we try to change him we just ordered a new pack. These are great when you're at the doctor so many times in the beginning. just put their arms in and snap on the sides, and since they're a onesie they don't ride up!

What are some of your baby favorites??

Welcome to the world Joshua Paul Emeigh. March 29th, 2012 was by far the best day thus far of our married lives together. We welcomed our 8 lb 6 oz 19.5 inch boy at 8:37 pm after 56 hours (yes that's right ladies 56...we'll get to that later) of labor. That boy of ours was worth every minute of it!

We've been settling into our happy chaos over the past six months. Our boy this past Monday weighed in at 17 lbs 6 oz and is 26 inches long. He's wearing 9 month clothes and is loving solids. His favorites are peas and prunes. Yes, our child seems to love any food that most children detest!

September 22, 2012 Josh was dedicated up at Camp Ichthus. This was something we've been looking forward to since Josh was born. Hubs came up with the idea as it was the camp that both he and his siblings grew up going to as campers and helping out at most summers. We ended up with fantastic weather, had a great group of friends and family there, and even had a wonderful photographer from over at Twinkle Photo to document the day for us. We just got the proofs today and cannot wait to share them with you!

We're headed off to Ohio and Indiana tomorrow for a long weekend. It's going to be jam packed with Josh meeting lots of family for the first time including his Great Great Grandmother and Great Great Grandfather. Mimi Daisy is turning 100! We're also going to catch up with a great friend and celebrate the upcoming arrival of her little boy. We'll document the days and come back with lots of pictures to share!

We look forward to blogging more regularly and growing our blogging family!
